Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised as part of an ethnically diverse family. Jacqueline's father Elroy is a Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim, a Malaysian. Her brothers are elder and two younger brothers. In the wake of turmoil in the country, her parents were forced to relocate to Bahrain during the 1980s. She was given a scholarship to study at in the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia following the completion of her studies in Bahrain. With a love of cultures and languages she also was a part of the Berlitz school of languages, where she learned to speak Spanish as well as improve her French as well as Arabic. She was also crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then participated in Miss Universe 2006. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone was able to begin her work in the world of television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on Sri Lankan Business. Padukone had the honor of being a daughter of badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew her life in Bangalore however, she is a native of Copenhagen. When she was a teen, Padukone competed in a variety of championships for national badminton. She eventually gave up playing when she made the decision to become a fashion model. Padukone's native language is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean in her origins. Her lineage is from Padukone village, which is located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in the state of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone's father is an international badminton player who retiring. The mother of the child is a traveling agent.
